PET FOOD MAKER? OR JUST A MARKETER?
Many pet owners don’t realize that most of today’s specialty or ‘premium’ pet food brands are owned by marketing companies that sell BUT DON’T ACTUALLY MAKE their own foods.

While the marketers have a sales concept, they don’t own a factory, can’t source their own ingredients, and don’t have the skills with which to prepare their own foods.

This means marketing companies contract the production of their pet food to third-party factories which they don’t own, and over which they have no direct control.

 

SO WHO’S REALLY MAKING YOUR PET’S FOOD?
This isn’t always clear since marketing companies prefer not to tell consumers that they’re not really making their foods themselves.

To check, look on the back of the package for: ‘Distributed under license by,’ or ‘Manufactured for’ — statements like these mean you’ve found another marketing brand pet food.

On the other hand, a ‘Manufactured by’ statement means you’ve found an authentic, home-cooked food for your cherished dog or cat.
